Now that I have learned how to actually post photos on this here blog, I wanted to do a recap of my time at Fritzl’s Lunchbox, in Bushwick. Fritzl’s was the first place that I worked when I first got to NY. Dan, the owner is a pal of a few friends of mine and thus I was able to make a connection for a stage.
They have been open about 8 months and are creating some really great dishes and a hungry following. I was able to work the line a few times with Dan which was cool, talk about inspiration, life in NY, and what owning a restaurant has been like. His wife is one of the owners of Pies N Thighs which was cool to find out. They supply one of the desserts (while I was there it was banana cream pie with whip cream and Nilla wafers). My last day there Dan was working on a blood sausage beignet with a gastrique which was so good!
Thanks to you Dan and crew for letting me spend a few days with you!!
